A Calm Mind is Better For Everyone

People are stressed out these days and when you feel stressed there’s only so much you can give.

Recent research reveals that that mindfulness type programs create benefits that add up to make an impact on organizational culture and effectiveness. Most compelling of these comes from insurance giant Aetna, which developed an internal mindfulness training programs with much support from their CEO Mark Bertolini. Here were the results:

36% reduction in stress levels

62.0 minute increase in production each week

7% lower healthcare costs

$3,000 saved per year based on gained productivity

Mindfulness creates better organizations

You can give your organization and employees the vast benefits of a peaceful mind. You will notice your staff is more productive, healthy, energetic, focused and harmonious with one another.  Meditation is an enjoyable and easy way to inject wellbeing into your workplace.

Entrepreneurs like Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra swear by meditation to help them increase their productivity, health...and profitability.

Less intimidating than yoga - you don't need to wear any special clothing or have any experience - you simply come in, lie down, and let us do the rest.  When you return to work you feel recharged and ready to crush the rest of the day.

In similar programs, like the one led by Google, participants reported:

  • Less emotional drain after the program

  • A greater ability to focus and be more effective.

  • A greater ability to maintain calm and poise during challenges.

Mindfulness leads to greater well-being.

The connection between mindfulness and well-being has been a consistent finding in almost 10 years of research. One study found that two weeks of mindfulness training increased well-being, decreased emotional exhaustion at work, and even increased job satisfaction (Hulsheger et al., 2012).

Mindfulness has been found to increase brain cortex thickness and activation in regions associated with emotional awareness and emotion management (Tang et al., 2015)

Emotional intelligence correlates with better teamwork and leadership.

Training in the emotional intelligence skill of compassion has been shown to reduce interpersonal stress and improve relationships (Singer 2016Kok et al. 2013).

Greater Emotional intelligence has been correlated with higher manager and leader performance (Kerr, Garvin, Heaton, & Boyle, 2006Rosete & Ciarrochi, 2005).

Mindfulness can lead to more creative and innovative thinking.

In a survey conducted by the Institute of Mindful Leadership, 93% of leaders reported that mindfulness training helped them create space for innovation, and nearly 70% said it helped them to think strategically (Institute for Mindful Leadership Survey).

Recent Corporate Testimonial

“As part of our yearly work environment initiatives, we booked a guided meditation session for our staff in May.  From planning our event as well as communication with the Peace Room was seamless throughout.  We opted for a 30 minute instruction followed by a 30 minute guided meditation class”.

“Most of our participants were new to this and all thoroughly enjoyed it.  It was very well run and the space is beautiful and comfortable.  At the end of the session, most of us gathered in the reception area and enjoyed a nice cup of tea or water, feeling relaxed and wonderfully chill. I would 100% recommend the Peace Room as a team activity or individually.  Many of us will definitely be back!”

Stephanie Barnes, Bank of Canada

“As a small to medium sized team, social events are surprisingly difficult to arrange but the staff at the Peace Room made our experience easily and seamless. Their facility is perfect for a group of our size and the team feedback from our guided group meditation was overwhelmingly positive. It gave them time to be focused, calm and reset their mind - We will do it again very soon!”

Chris - CEO, Pointer

“As part of Mental Health Week, our team of 11 staff members attended a ‘Calming Clouds Meditation’ session at the Peace Room. The ambiance was welcoming and relaxing, with a nice array of blankets, pillows, and mats available to create a comfortable space. The words and imagery used to guide us through the meditation were effective. Offering warm tea afterwards was definitely appreciated, and a nice way to end our visit.”

Valérie Broadfoot, Canadian Institute of Planners
